Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 30, 2026

Working draft This policy is in final legal review for launch. Big changes will show up in the app and at the top of this page.

The short version

Chancey is for adults 18+ who want to pick and track lottery tickets. To do that, we store your account info, the picks and tickets you save, your settings, and the logs we need to run the app. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads inside the app. We do not use ticket photos for advertising.

Information we collect

Account information

When you sign up, we store an email (or an ID from a sign-in service you choose), an attestation that you are 18 or older, and any settings you pick. We may store hashed tokens to keep you signed in.

Picks, ticket scans, and saved data

When you pick numbers or scan a ticket, we save the numbers, the game, the draw date, and any notes you add. Ticket photos are processed to read the numbers and details. If your device cannot read a number on its own, we may use a cloud step to help. We never use ticket photos for advertising or sell them to third parties.

Preferences and app state

We store your settings, favorites, saved sets, reminder choices, so the app works the same way across your devices.

Operational logs

We collect the logs we need to run, debug, and protect the service: timestamps, IP addresses, device and browser type, error reports, and request data. We keep these for a limited time. They are used for operations and security, not for ads.

Support messages

When you write to support, we keep the message and any attachments so we can reply, follow up, and improve the product. Don't send government IDs, payment cards, or passwords.

Analytics on this marketing site

The marketing site at chancey.io uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to count visits, see which pages people read, and measure clicks on the call-to-action buttons. We have GA4 set up with privacy-respecting defaults: IP addresses are anonymized, advertising features are off, and no cross-site advertising signals are sent. GA4 sets a first-party _ga cookie. The Chancey web app at app.chancey.io does not load advertising trackers.

How we use information

  • To run the core service: picks, scanning, history, draw matching, and sync.
  • To sign you in and keep accounts safe.
  • To debug issues and keep the service reliable and secure.
  • To reply to your support and privacy requests.
  • To meet the law where it applies.

We do not use your information to sell ads, build ad profiles, or share with data brokers. We only use ticket photos to read the numbers and draw details.

Sharing

We share information only with:

  • Service providers who run our infrastructure (hosting, sign-in, error tracking, optional ticket-recognition help, email delivery, web analytics). These providers are bound by contract to protect data and use it only for what we ask.
  • Legal recipients when the law, a valid legal process, or the safety of users requires it.
  • Successors if Chancey is sold or merged. We will require continued protection of your data and tell you about meaningful changes.

Your choices

You can ask for access to your data, a correction, a deletion, or an export. Send a message through our contact form and pick the "Privacy or data request" topic. Use the email tied to your account. We reply within the windows the law requires (usually 30 days).

Cookies and similar tools

The marketing site uses essential cookies and a privacy-respecting Google Analytics cookie (see above). The Chancey web app uses essential cookies and similar storage for sign-in and settings. We do not run cross-site advertising trackers. To opt out of GA4, you can use your browser's tracking-prevention setting, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser.

Children

Chancey is not for anyone under 18, or under the local age of majority, whichever is greater. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child gave us data, send a message through the contact form and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards, administrative, technical, and physical, to protect your data. No system is perfect. If we learn of an incident that affects your data, we will tell you and the right regulators in line with the law.

Changes

We will update this policy as the product changes. Big changes will show up in the app and at the top of this page, with a new "last updated" date.

Contact

For privacy questions or to use the rights above, send a message through the contact form and pick the "Privacy or data request" topic.
